Yvonne Pouget steigt in ihrer Produktion „Il Viaggio – La smorfia della vita“ tief hinab in die volkstümliche neapolitanische Kultur, mit ihren Geisterwelten und ihrem Aberglauben. Die in München lebende gebürtige Neapolitanerin verbindet dabei ihre eigenen ausdrucksstarken Bildschöpfungen mit der choreographischen Sprache ihrer Choreographen-Tänzer Katarina Neuweg und Damien Liger.
Ah, youth, ah Napoli!
"Sun and song and dance and amore! The food is rich, the Pope is powerful amd life is all play and enjoyment. On the one hand. What about sickness and poverty? What about loneliness, death, and unfulfilled desire? Life is a lottery. „and in Naples you can’t wait for it to find you“, says Yvonne Pouget whose family hails from there, „you have to go looking for luck“. The journey is long. May God and ghosts help you!"

"Pouget, sits on a chair, enveloped in darkness. Lifts her head. A baby face. she gets up, very slowly. and she travels downstage at Butoh-pace. Indiscernible almost the transition from pudgy todder contentment to a child´s pouting, the coy flirts of youth, the sovereign dignity of mmiddle age, surprise then, disappointment, even suffering, oh! terrible pain, and finally a dimming down, a calmless, a shrinking; old age sets in. then death sneakes in up and takes her. Die Premiere von „Il Viaggio – La smorfia della vita“ fand am 15. November 2006 im i-camp statt und wurde durch das Kulturreferat der Landeshauptstadt München gefördert. Die Wiederaufnahme findet, wie die Uraufführung 2006, mit freundlicher Unterstützung durch Tanztendenz München und i-camp/neues theater münchen statt.
Die Produktion ist auf das Vancouver International Dance Festival eingeladen und wird dort am 4. / 5. März 2011 zu sehen sein.
